In this experiential course we explore how to weave the subtle yet fundamental elements of breath, support, and rest into any practice, starting with your own. Together, we will adapt traditional concepts and practices of Restorative, Yin, and Yoga Nidra to our lives, while developing the clarity to share them with others in our own way. We will learn to welcome quiet and ease, and to allow for trust to arise both inside and out. We can then let our unique experience guide us, deepening our self knowledge as we come to the understanding of the "discipline of freedom" that is inherent in yoga.
This immersion features inquiry, practice, and discussion of:
Weekend 1: Principles and practices of restorative and yin yoga, breath awareness, supportive postures, variations and modifications -- including household props.
Weekend 2: Energetic or subtle body balance and harmony, intentional sequencing, pranayama, and guided rest, or Yoga Nidra.
Weekend 3: Principles of teaching practice, to share your experience and guide students to make their own inquiries and choices.
*Focus on self and collective care throughout will also include concepts and practices from Ayurveda, Tantra, and Vedic philosophy. Expect to gain the experience, tools, and inspiration for Restorative yoga to inform and elevate your practice and teaching, no matter what your background. All are welcome, teachers* and students alike.
